I've been living in Shanghai for a little over a month, but Jinqiao dosen't seem to have the same amount of mops as the rest of the city. However, I was just down in Hong Kong for a week, and I saw them EVERYWHERE. The friends I was traveling with could not figure out why I kept dissolving into laughter every time we'd pass a mop leaning against a wall, a building, a fence, a gate... Thank you!
Am very happy to have raised awareness of mops! Did the HK mops have any stories to tell? Were they different from, say, Shanghai mops or Dongbei/Hebei mops?
The reason I am so 'moppishly prolific' is because your insanity is slowly spreading through Changchun. On Tuesday, an angry friend emailed me two photos of mops which I have yet to submit. Wednesday, a drunk friend yelled at me for the fact that he had stopped mid-walk to photograph the most amazing mop in the world. Thursday, I and a cold friend leapt off a bus before our stop and ran back 100 metres to photograph levitating mops. It was all the same friend. Nonetheless, what have you done?
Mop fever in Changchun! How very exciting! Keep the mops coming… I still have dozens of Shanghai ones but the diversity of Dongbei is welcomed.
